RAWALPINDI: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has summoned Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and Punjab Minister for Industry and Commerce Mian Aslam Iqbal to probe the Sugar scandal.

NAB Rawalpindi summoned Punjab Minister for Industry and Commerce Mian Aslam Iqbal on May 4. The NAB’s combined investigation team will interrogate Mian Aslam. The NAB is investigating the sugar scandal under the Money Laundering Act 2010.

According to sources, Mian Aslam has also been directed to bring a record of subsidy given to Chinese curtains in 2018-2019. In addition, they have been asked for a record of permitting the export of sugar.

On the other hand, NAB has also summoned former provincial food minister Samiullah Chaudhry to NAB Rawalpindi office.
