LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has filed a reference against its 24 deviant members in the Punjab Assembly in the Speaker’s Office.
The Speaker Punjab Assembly will decide to send the reference to the Election Commission in due course.
Sources said that no action has been taken by the Speaker on the reference so far. The deviant members belong to Jahangir Tareen, Aleem Khan and Asad Khokhar groups.
Party secretary general Asad Umar had earlier issued a letter to the members seeking their response by issuing a show cause notice on April 4.
According to sources, press conferences and video statements are also attached with Hamza Shahbaz in the reference against deviant members.
The reference states that deviant members have on several occasions announced to vote for Hamza Shahbaz for the Chief Ministership.
