Islamabad (Shahid Kazmi – Raztv.net) Draft bill is ready to be presented in the National Assembly. Mix voice amongst Political Parties of Pakistan on this bill. Even some voices are also on rise within the Federal Government. The Standing Committee on Interior approved draft of this bill to make amendments to the Pakistan Penal Code. According to the proposed bill a person involved in defamation of Armed Forces or any individual who is part of Armed Forces will have to be in prison for two years or to pay a fine of Rs. 5 Lac. In a meeting of the standing committee on Interior, Agha Rafi Uddin from PPP, Maryam Aurangzeb of PMLN and Nadeem Abbas voiced against this bill and termed this bill as against Freedom of Expression.
But on the other end, a strong opinion is also building up in favor of this bill. In the near past, different sects of society criticized the Armed Forces even without having any logical ground. This resulted in preparation of this bill.
