KARACHI: NKATI President Faisal Moeez Khan has once again requested the government to allow the import of cotton yarn.

Faisal Moeez Khan, president of the North Karachi Association of Trade and Industry (NKATI), has once again asked the government to allow the import of cotton yarn and compete with regional countries to save the textile industry, which is the largest contributor to the country’s gross domestic product. For all taxes, duties are requested to be abolished on long term basis.

Appreciating the federal government’s decision to withdraw import duty on cotton yarn at an emergency meeting in NKATI, the industrialists said the government needed to take further steps to pull the country out of the severe economic crisis caused by the corona virus. ۔

The meeting was attended by NKATI Senior Vice President Shabbir Ismail, Vice President Naeem Haider, members of the Managing Committee and members of NKATI in large numbers.
