ITALY: “Conversation With My Father” by Muneeza Hashmi Book Launching & A cultural evening to introduce the work of the great Urdu poet Faiz Ahmed Faiz was organized by consul general of Pakistan in Milan on 14th September 2022. The event was attended by scholars, academics, journalists, literary circle, students and Pakistani diasporas in Milan.
The event included by an enlighten discussion with Mrs. Muneeza Hashmi, daughter of Faiz Ahmed Faiz who assumed the audience by sharing her sweet memories which she compiled in the form of a book titled “Conversation with My Father”.
Miss Aqsa Nawaz, Consul General, in her address highlighted the life and achievement of Faiz Ahmed Faiz, she appreciated the unique style of Faiz Poetry, marked by sadness and grief blended with a message of continued struggle purpose and victory to powerless.

Mr. Thomas Dahnharbt, professor of Urdu literature at the university of Venice Milan Italy, in his remarks reflected on Faiz poetry and Muneeza’s contribution to Faiz biography.
The event was much appreciated by the participants and generating awareness about the great poet his poetry and philosophy, a music performance of Faiz’s famous Ghazals on violin and documentary on Faiz’s life were played at the end of the occasion.
