Karachi: Funeral prayers of legendary actor Umer Sharif were offered. Umer Sharif’s body was brought from Edhi mortuary to his residence in Gulshan-e-Iqbal where strict security arrangements were made, area police personnel and traffic police personnel were deployed.
Umer Sharif’s funeral prayers were offered at Umer Sharif Park in Clifton, which was attended by a large number of people.
According to police, more than 200 personnel led by two DSPs were deployed for the security of the funeral, walk-through gates were installed at the main gate of the park and generators and speakers were installed in the park. A search was also conducted by the Bomb Disposal Squad in Umer Sharif Park.
After the funeral prayers, the body has been shifted to the premises of Abdullah Shah Ghazi Shrine where burial is underway.
Umer Sharif’s body was taken to Karachi in the morning
Earlier, Turkish Airlines flight TK-708 took off from Istanbul at 12:53 pm and reached Karachi Airport at 5:33 am. Umer Sharif’s widow Zarin Ghazal also reached Karachi with the deceased.
After reaching Karachi, Umer Sharif’s body was handed over to his sons from the airport cargo terminal, after which the body was shifted to Edhi morgue in Karachi.

The ambulance carrying the body of Umer Sharif was showered with flower petals while a large number of relatives, fans and citizens were present in the caravan during the departure of the body to the morgue.
Umer Sharif is thought to have died in a German hospital on Saturday, October 2.
According to Dr. Tariq Shehab, Umer Sharif’s doctor in the United States, 4 hours after dialysis in a German hospital, Umer Sharif’s condition suddenly deteriorated and he died of a heart attack.
