ISLAMABAD: Senator Raza Rabbani has introduced the Constitution Amendment Bill 2021 in the House.

A meeting of the Senate was held under the chairmanship of Sadiq Sanjarani in which the issue of hidden cameras during the election was discussed. The chairman of the senate said that a forensic inquiry into the hidden cameras would be conducted in the house.

Expressing his views, PML-N Senator Azam Nazir Tarar said that 27 senators of the opposition are independent opposition, our members should be given separate seats, we will continue constructive politics as an independent opposition.

During Azam Nazir’s speech, other senators including Senator Dilawar Khan made a lot of noise. Speaking in the Senate, Railway Minister Azam Swati also demanded an inquiry into the issue of hidden cameras in the House.

Senator Raza Rabbani introduced the Constitution Amendment Bill 2021 in the House. Raza Rabbani said that there is talk of powers between the two houses of Parliament, the powers of the Senate are less than those of the National Assembly, the powers of the houses should be equal.

Raza Rabbani demanded to increase the powers of the Senate in the bill and said that Articles 57, 62, 72, 73, 86, 89, 126, 159, 160, 162 and 166 of the Constitution should be amended and the Chief Minister of the province was given the power to speak in the Senate. If the senator is from the area concerned, then the vote should not be transferred and he should not come from another area. Chairman Sanjarani referred the bill to the relevant committee.
