Lahore : Ghee mills have threatened to close factories across the country.

The Pakistan Vegetable Manufacturers Association conveyed its concerns to Finance Minister Shaukat Tareen in a letter.

Former PVMA chairman Sheikh Amjad Rashid has said that if our demands are not met, the ghee mills will be closed.

Former President of Pakistan Vegetable Manufacturers Association Sheikh Omar Rehan has said that instead of providing relief to the ghee and oil industry, the current budget has brought it to the brink of disaster. Giving unnecessary concessions to big industries in the name of ghee industries is not acceptable.

Sheikh Omar Rehan said that the decision is expected to cause a loss of about Rs 160 billion to the government in the import of edible oil. Our factories will be reduced to rubble. All legal avenues, including the higher judiciary, will be taken. We will close our factories and hand over the keys to the government.
