Layyah: A bus carrying prisoners from Muzaffargarh met with an accident in Chowk Azam, as a result of which two policemen lost their lives.

According to Express News, a bus carrying prisoners from Muzaffargarh crashed on Layyah Chowk Azam Layyah Road Bypass in Punjab, killing two policemen and injuring 28 others, including prisoners.

According to DPO Muzaffargarh Hassan Iqbal and DPO Layyah Syed Nadeem Abbas, the prisoner van was bringing prisoners from Muzaffargarh to Layyah. The accident took place when the driver lost control of the vehicle due to lack of control. Policemen and 23 prisoners were injured, while police constables Subhan and Qaiser from Muzaffargarh were martyred on the spot.

The injured have been shifted to Tehsil Hospital Chowk Azam and District Headquarters Hospital, while the condition of 3 policemen has been referred to Multan Nishtar as their condition is critical, while all the inmates have been shifted to District Jail Layyah after giving first aid to the injured. Has been done, and only 5 injured are being treated.
