Bomb Blast At a Mosque During Friday Prayer in Afghanistan

KABUL: A worshiper was martyred and more than 15 others were injured in an explosion at a mosque in Afghanistan’s Badghis province during Friday prayers.

A mosque in the Afghan capital, Badghis, has been blown up. The blast was so powerful that nearby buildings shook and car windows shattered.

Rescuers shifted the injured to a nearby hospital, where one of the worshipers dead and 15 others were admitted. The hospital administration said four of the injured were in critical condition. There are fears that the death toll could rise. Taliban militants surrounded the site of the blast.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attack, but there have been more than five suicide bombings at Imambargahs since the Taliban took power.
