Asia Cup 2023: Bangladesh Set a Target of 165 Runs to Beat Sri Lanka

In the second match of the Asia Cup 2023 being played against Sri Lanka and Bangladesh, Bangladesh gave Sri Lanka a target of 165 runs to win.

In the ongoing match in Pali Kele, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh captain Shakib Al Hasan won the toss and decided to bat first, which did not turn out well and the entire Bangladesh team was dismissed for 164 runs in the 43rd over.

Mohammad Naeem and Tanzeed Hasan started the match from Bangladesh side, the opening batsman Tanzeed Hasan for only 4 runs and then Mohammad Naeem also returned to the pavilion for a total of 25 runs.

After that, Bangladeshi captain Shakib-ul-Hasan also returned after scoring only 5 runs off the ball of Sri Lanka’s Mendis. On a total score of 162, Najam Al Hussain got out after scoring 89 runs, besides Tawhid scored 20 runs, Muhammad Naeem scored 16 runs and Mushfiqur Rahim scored 13 runs.

The entire Bangladesh team was bowled out for 164 runs in 42.4 overs.

Mathisha Pathirana dismissed 4 and Mahesh Thikshana 2 for Sri Lanka.

It should be noted that Bangladesh team’s wicketkeeper batsman Litan Das has been ruled out of the Asia Cup due to viral fever and Inamul Haque has been included in the squad in his place.

Pakistan defeated Nepal by 238 runs in the opening match of Asia Cup 2023 played in Multan yesterday.
