Lahore : 60 essential medicines including anti-suicide medicine have gone missing in the country.
The Pakistan Psychiatric Society has expressed its concern over the shortage of medicine and has also written to drug regulatory authorities including pharma companies.
According to Pakistan Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association, 60 important medicines are not available due to increase in production cost.

Chairman PPMA Qazi Mansoor said that due to the increase in the value of the dollar, raw materials became expensive, companies are not making these medicines.
On the other hand, Drap also acknowledged the shortage of 8 medicines in the local market and said that due to supply chain problems and non-availability of quota of controlled drugs, there has been a shortage of some medicines.
