Former cricketers have predicted the finalists of the Asia Cup 2023, which began with the opening match between hosts Pakistan and Nepal in Multan yesterday.
Speaking to cricket website ESPNcricinfo, India’s legendary former spinner Anil Kumble predicted arch-rivals Pakistan and India to play the final on September 17.
“This is something we all want, India and Pakistan are two of the best teams in the tournament and I don’t see any reason why neither of them can reach the final,” he said.

Former Indian opener Wasim Jaffer also expressed similar views, he said that in the history of Asia Cup, India and Pakistan have never played the final.
Wasim Jaffer said ‘Everybody wants India and Pakistan to have a final, but this has never happened in the history of Asia Cup, so I would also like to see a Pakistan-India final’.
Apart from this, Pakistan’s former spinner and well-known commentator Urooj Mumtaz also believes that the final of the Asia Cup will be played between Pakistan and India.
He said that the final of the Asia Cup will be played between traditional rivals Pakistan and India.
It should be noted that the final of Asia Cup 2023 will be played on September 17 in Sri Lanka.
In the opening match of the event, Pakistan defeated Nepal by 238 runs.
