The United Arab Emirates has extended the repayment of a 2 billion loan to Pakistan.

Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi has met his UAE counterpart Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan. During the meeting, important regional and global issues including bilateral relations and promotion of bilateral cooperation were discussed.

The meeting also discussed enhancing bilateral cooperation on trade, investment, energy and other issues.

Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that Pakistan would fully participate in the upcoming ‘Dubai Expo 2020’ in October. Shah Mehmood Qureshi urged his Emirati counterpart to resolve the difficulties faced by Pakistanis in obtaining visas.

He also apprised his Emirati counterpart of the problems facing the Pakistani community.

The UAE Foreign Minister told Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi that the UAE has decided to extend the repayment period of the ارب 2 billion ‘relief loan’ given to Pakistan from the Abu Dhabi Fund.

He appreciated the services of the Pakistani community in the construction and development of the UAE.
