Lahore: The inside story of the meeting between former president Asif Ali Zardari and opposition leader Shahbaz Sharif has come to light.
The PML-N delegation led by Shahbaz Sharif reached Bilawal House which included Ahsan Iqbal, Saad Rafique, Rana Sanaullah and Maryam and Nagzeb while on arrival at Bilawal House they were received by Asif Zardari, Yousuf Raza Gilani and other leaders.
According to sources, Maulana Asad Mahmood and Akram Durrani of JUI also attended the meeting. Sources said that during the meeting, the PML-N proposed the resignations of 10 to 15 angry government members and said that instead of no-confidence motion, a vote of confidence should be sought from the Prime Minister.
The PPP said that if the speaker did not accept the resignations of the angry government members, it would be a relief.
In addition, the PPP proposed a no-confidence motion against the Speaker before the Prime Minister, while the PML-N insisted on bringing a no-confidence motion against the Prime Minister.
According to sources, the PML-N assured that a no-confidence motion against the speaker would be placed before Nawaz Sharif.
