KABUL : The Taliban have stepped up operations against the global extremist organization ISIS in Khurasan.
A bomb blast near the Eidgah mosque in the Afghan capital, Kabul, has killed at least five people and injured dozens more.
According to reports, the blast took place while a prayer was being offered in the mosque for the mother of Taliban spokesman and Deputy Information Minister Zabihullah Mujahid.
Following the blast, the Taliban raided an ISIS hideout in Kabul’s Police District 17, killing three militants.
According to Afghan security officials, Taliban special forces conducted a military operation in Kabul Police District (PD) 5 in the morning.
