KARACHI: More than Rs 1.5 crore worth of smuggled goods were recovered from a coach coming to Karachi from Quetta, the capital of Balochistan province. 20,000 liters of smuggled diesel was also recovered from another tanker coming from the same route.

According to details, the Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation Karachi cracked down and recovered smuggled goods worth more than Rs 1.5 crore from a coach coming from Quetta.

Sources said that the coach seats would be removed and clothes, AC, toothpaste and vehicle spare parts would be kept in it.

On a tip-off, 75 rolls of smuggled foreign cloth, 25 boxes of toothpaste, 20 cartons of spare parts and 30 new and old air conditioners were seized from the coach.

Another tanker coming from Quetta to Karachi also recovered 20,000 liters of smuggled diesel.

According to sources, non-customs paid vehicles worth crores of rupees, milk powder and milk powder have also been seized during the last one week.
