Islamabad (Shahid Kazmi – Raztv.net) Swiss case record against Asif Ali Zardari is recovered. Government of Pakistan is planning to reopen the case against AAZ. Criminal proceedings to be proceeded against 5 persons including Ahmar Bilal Sofi, Ghulam Rasool, Abdul Basit, Shahid Ali Baig and Tariq Fawad.
Federal Minister for Science and Technology, Fawad Chaudhary hinted in a press conference that the Government may open Swiss case against AAZ and BB. But the story behind all happenings is a little different. Government is not interested to re-open this case again. And even if this case gets open, the PTI led Federal Government is planning to use this case as pressure tactic against PPP and Asif Ali Zardari. Behind the curtain, the Federal Government is already feeling some unbearable pressure from PPP as Syed yousaf Raza Gilani defeated strong candidate of PTI, Hafeez Sheikh the Ex-Finance Minister, in Senate Elections from Islamabad seat.
Opinion is already building up in the Power Corridor of Islamabad that this case is a good pressure point for PPP and AAZ in future to calm down politics in Punjab and on Federal level. Asif Ali Zardari already showed interest to bring in-house change in Punjab favoring Hamza Shahbaz Sharif for new CM of Punjab. Hamza Shahbaz is Leader of the Opposition in Punjab. Sources confirmed that the Swiss Case is a sore vain of PPP.
In coming days, we may witness some more statements from Federal Ministers and Spokes Persons of PTI regarding recovering original documents of Swiss Case through Broadsheet Case. But in reality, nothing is going to happen as this will surely stop PPP to try any kind of adventure in Punjab Assembly or on Federal Level.
In the past, Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani, the then Prime Minister of Pakistan, in 2012, refused to write a letter to Swiss authorities and faced dismissal from office of the Prime Minister. Illegal Money, Money laundering a purchase of Surrey Palace was interlinked with each other in the famous Swiss Case against Asif Ali Zardari and Late Benazir Bhutto. Case proceedings were set aside after Gen. Pervez Musharaf offered NRO to PPP leadership and some others. Meanwhile, Swiss authorities also closed this case and refused to re-open this case for being time-barred.
