Daska : Polling is underway in NA-75 Daska by-election from Punjab.
After the by-election on NA-75 was declared null and void by the Election Commission, re-election is being held today in which Ali Asjad Malhi of PTI and Noshin Iftikhar of PML-N are expected to face off.
Polling in the constituency started at 8 am and will continue till 5 pm without any break.
The total number of voters in the constituency is 494,000 for which 360 polling stations have been set up, while more than 4,100 police and more than 1,000 Rangers personnel have been deployed for election security, besides 10 teams of Pakistan Army Quick. Will be present as a response force.
The administration has enforced section 144 in the constituency on the eve of by-elections, which will not allow the display of licensed or unlicensed weapons.
It should be noted that Iftikharul Hassan alias Zahir Shah of PML-N had won the general elections in 2018 and this seat became vacant after his death.
