ISLAMABAD: PM Imran Khan has set up a high-level cell to investigate the Pandora Papers. Federal Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry tweeted that Prime Minister Imran Khan had set up a high-level cell under the Prime Minister’s Inspection Commission to investigate the Pandora’s Leaks.
He said a high-level cell would hold everyone involved in the Pandora Lakes accountable.
He said that the facts related to Pandora Lakes would be brought before the nation.
Pandora’s Lex will be investigated by FIA, NAB, FBR and anti-corruption, sources said
According to sources, a meeting chaired by Prime Minister Imran Khan decided to set up a cell to investigate the Pandora’s Leaks.
Sources said that it was decided in the meeting that the investigation into Pandora Lakes would be laid before the nation and a high level cell would hold all those involved in Pandora Lakes accountable.
Sources said that the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), National Accountability Bureau (NAB), Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) and Anti-Corruption will investigate.
According to sources, Prime Minister Imran Khan has directed the Law Minister to make TORs and directed that the facts be laid before the nation. It is believed that more than 700 Pakistani offshore companies have appeared in Pandora Papers.
The Pandora Papers featured the offshore company of Finance Minister Shaukat Tareen and the offshore companies of Federal Minister Monis Elahi and Senator Faisal Wawda.
The investigation revealed the offshore company of senior Punjab minister Abdul Aleem Khan, while the offshore company of PML-N leader Ishaq Dar’s son was also included in the Pandora Papers.
Pandora Papers also includes PPP’s Sharjeel Memon’s offshore company. Apart from this, the offshore company of the family of Federal Minister for Industry Khusro Bakhtiar has also appeared in Pandora Papers.
Pandora Papers also features offshore companies of some retired military officers, bankers, businessmen and media owners.
Just yesterday, Prime Minister Imran Khan had announced an investigation into the Pakistanis involved in the Pandora Papers.
