KARACHI: Governor SBP Raza Baqir has said that no country happily goes to the IMF, when they went to the IMF, the economic situation was bad.
According to details, SBP Governor Raza Baqir while talking to a private TV channel said that in the first and second wave of Corona, the government, the SBP took steps and will follow the policies that are in favor of Pakistan.
He said that the policy rate was not 13% for the first time in Imran Khan’s government, the policy rate was 13% in 2008 and 2010 as well.
Raza Baqir said that our focus is to save the jobs of the people, we will talk to the IMF keeping this in mind.
The Governor SBP said that monetary policy has great support to the economy. During Corona, SBP provided cheap loans of Rs. 250 billion.
It should be noted that Raza Baqir recently said that we have made difficult decisions and the results of these decisions are coming, the supply chain will be better if it is correct.
The SBP governor said that the more foreign exchange reserves a country has, the more independent it will be. The declining foreign exchange reserves have to go to the IMF.
He said that in a few months, foreign exchange reserves have exceeded .5 12.5 billion, the economic situation is improving, things are looking better due to reforms.
