Lahore: Human rights activist and well-known journalist IA Rehman has passed away.

IA Rehman’s family confirmed his death, saying he was suffering from diabetes and high blood pressure.

Born in Haryana in 1930 at the age of 90, IA Rehman also fought with pen for freedom of expression, justice and protection of the Constitution. He has been associated with journalism for almost 65 years.

IA Rehman started his journalism career as a reporter in a newspaper and he covered various issues of the country from the platform of journalism while he regularly wrote columns on important topics.

IA Rehman fought for civil rights through the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan and has been the Director of the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan for almost two decades and also the Secretary General of the HRCP till 2017.
