Lahore (Rana Ali Zohaib) Lahore Police Operations Wing is fighting against drug trafficking. Lahore City Division Police registered 179, Cantt 209, Civil Lines Division Police 103, Saddar Division Police 174, Iqbal Town 117 and Model Town Division Police 129 cases against drug dealers.
911 cases were registered in different police stations of the city. The Lahore Police Operations Wing arrested 917 drug dealers in May.
More than 344 kg of hashish and 09 kg 717 grams of heroin were recovered from the possession of the accused.
01 kg 859 grams of ice was recovered from the possession of the accused. Large quantities of opium and cannabis, including 09,728 liters of liquor, were also recovered from drug dealers.
According to the spokesman of Operations Wing, DIG Operations Sajid Kayani said that drugs are a menace, eradication is not possible without the cooperation of citizens, citizens should support Lahore Police in eradicating drugs and building a healthy society. The DIG said that the siege was also being tightened against the accused who were involved in drug trafficking.
Sajid Kayani has appealed to the citizens to report the drug dealers to non-emergency 1242 or emergency number 15.
DIG Operations directed SSP Operations Ahsan Saifullah, Divisional SPs to expedite operations against drug dealers.
