Karachi Blast :1 Killed, Several Vehicles Destroyed 

KARACHI : One person was killed and several vehicles were destroyed in Karachi blast at Saddar, a major business center in Karachi.

The bomber struck shortly after noon in front of a government vehicle on Dawood Puta Road in Saddar area. Police suspect the blast targeted a government vehicle.

The Karachi blast was so loud that it could be heard from afar and shattered the windows of nearby buildings. There were also reports of several people being injured in the blast, who were taken to nearby hospitals.

Police and Rangers personnel and Bomb Disposal Squad personnel have reached the site of the blast and search is on.

Police said that 6 vehicles were damaged due to the blast. According to initial reports, the explosive material was in a garbage drum.

Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon said that three persons were injured in the tragic blast while Sindh Chief Minister directed to provide emergency medical aid to the injured by imposing emergency in hospitals across the city.

Director Jinnah Hospital Dr. Shahdarsol said that the body of one person killed in the blast has been brought while 8 injured have been brought so far.
