Lahore (Rana Ali Zohaib) A case has been registered for the murder of Justice Aftab Afridi. The Supreme Court Bar President Latif Afridi has been nominated in the case.
According to details, the murder case of Justice Aftab Afridi was registered in Chota Lahore police station on the complaint of his son. In the case, the Supreme Court Bar President Latif Afridi, Jamil, Danish Afridi, Jamal Afridi and Abid Muhammad Shafiq have been nominated while 4 unknown persons are also named in the case.
Majid Afridi said that the incident took place due to old enmity while the cousin of the slain judge, Prof. Salim Afridi had said that the slain judge Aftab Afridi was killed due to family enmity.
On the other hand, the Joint Operations Team of the police conducted raids in several areas of Peshawar and Khyber to arrest the killers of the anti-terrorism court judge and his family members and arrested five suspects.
DPO Shoaib said that all the arrested persons will be identified by Majid Afridi, son of the slain judge. Two vehicles belonging to the FIR have also been recovered. Further investigation will be carried out after the identification parade.
It may be recalled that the vehicle of Justice Aftab Afridi of Swat Anti-Terrorism Court was fired upon near Peshawar Motorway Interchange yesterday, as a result of which Justice Aftab Afridi along with his wife and children were killed while driver Zakir and gunman Dawood were seriously injured.
Martyr Judge Aftab Afridi was on his way to Islamabad from Swat. He was posted in Swat two months ago.
Expressing deep sorrow and grief over the tragic incident, Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mahmood Khan has ordered immediate arrest of the killers.
