JKLF Appeals People of IOJK for A Complete Strike on February 11

The Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) has decided to name the month of February after Muhammad Maqbool Butt Shaheed and expressed determination to celebrate his 40th martyrdom day on February 11 with great devotion and respect.

According to the statement issued from party’s central information office, the JKLF chief spokesman, Muhammad Rafiq Dar has appealed the people of Indian Occupied Jammu Kashmir to observe a complete strike on 11 February (Martyrdom Day of Maqbool Butt).

The spokesman said that JKLF will hold public gatherings throughout the nook and corner of AJK-GB zone besides the protest demonstrations in front of the Indian embassies in UK, USA and Brussels along with other European countries. He said that during these protest demonstrations, the demand for the return of the remains of Muhammad Maqbool Butt and Afzal Guru shall be repeated, who for the cause of national independence of Jammu Kashmir, were hanged and buried in Tihar Jail by India in 1984 and 2013 respectively.

The spokesman appreciated the move by British Kashmiris to hold a joint protest demonstration against India on February 11 under the banner of British Kashmiri Community, in which a large number of Kashmiri men, women and children along with supportive non-Kashmiris belonging to different nationalities living in UK are also expected to participate.

JKLF Europe zonal leadership in Brussels, France, Spain, Switzerland and Italy will hold similar protest demonstrations in front of Indian high commissions, the statement read.

JKLF feels saddened over the death of its senior party leader Ch. Khursheed Alam from Nakyal, Kotli who breathed his last during the midnight at his residence after a brief illness. Choudhary Khursheed was one among the most senior party leaders from Nakyal who served the party and the freedom struggle with passion, Rafiq Dar said. The party leadership while extending condolences to the bereaved family prayed to Almighty Allah for his highest place in Jannah and patience for the deceased family, the spokesman added.
