Rangoon: Internet services across the country have been completely shut down at the behest of Myanmar’s military leadership.
According to a foreign news agency, the military leadership that overthrew the democratic government in Myanmar has ordered the complete suspension of internet services across the country, after which all internet services have been shut down indefinitely. The Ministry of Communications has issued orders to all telecom companies across the country to discontinue brand band service.
Hundreds of people, including politicians, election officials, journalists and others, were forcibly detained on Friday, human rights groups said. The number has reached close to 3,000.
On the other hand, the ongoing protests against the military coup are intensifying with each passing day, 550 people have been killed since February 1, while sanctions have been imposed on Myanmar’s military leadership by several countries.
