ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Information Senator Shibli Faraz has said that despite the increase in the support price of wheat, flour will not be expensive.
Senator Shibli Faraz said that the subsidy price of wheat was fixed at Rs. 1800 per quintal and the announcement of subsidy for cheap flour was a clear proof of Prime Minister Imran’s farmer friendliness. Despite the increase in the support price of wheat, flour will not be expensive.
The federal minister said that while subsidizing consumers, the federal and provincial governments would ensure that half of their strategic reserves were through 5 million tonnes of imported wheat, while the government was working to meet half of the strategic needs of wheat. If it is procured from abroad, the pressure on domestic availability of wheat will be lessened.
