Peshawar : The Awami National Party (ANP), part of the opposition 10-party alliance Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM), has announced its separation from the alliance.

An important meeting of the party leadership was held in Peshawar on the issue of notice to PDM’s ANP in which consultations were held on show cause notice.
Sources said that the ANP was angry with the PDM over the show cause issue.

Later, Awami National Party Central Senior Vice President Amir Haider Khan Hoti along with other party leaders held a press conference.

Amir Haider Khan Hoti said that no party or individual has the authority to give show cause notice to ANP. We were ready for clarification but no meeting was called.

He said that there should have been an explanation for winning uncontested in Punjab. If there was an alliance between JUI and PTI in Larkana, it should have been explained.

Amir Haider Khan Hoti said that this show cause clearly means that they are trying to affect our reputation, it is clear that we are being pushed against the wall, what was the hurry of this notice? Waiting for Maulana to recover and later calling a meeting, it is clear that some parties want to use the PDM for their own purposes.

The senior vice-president said that after lengthy consultations, they had come to the conclusion that the PDM was being used to further their personal agenda. ۔

Amir Haider Khan Hoti said that I, Vice President and Mian Iftikhar, spokesperson and other leaders have resigned from the post of PDM.

In response to a question, he said that our senators voted for the PPP candidate with the permission of the party president.

It may be recalled that yesterday the Pakistan Democratic Movement had issued a show cause notice to the ruling coalition Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) on the issue of Leader of the Opposition in the Upper House.
