Mandi Bahauddin: Centre for Peace and Development Initiatives (CPDI) conducted a one-day training session of on occupational safety procedures for sanitary workers and also distributed PPE kits to the sanitary, inspector, sanitary workers and sewer men in MC meeting hall under GiZ’s Support to Local Governance Program (LoGo II) project named “Strengthening Local Governments for effective Public Service Delivery in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa”. Aim of this training session is to develop capacity of cadres of sanitary workers to work in a safe and effective manner. Total 30s of Municipal sanitary worker of Municipal Committee Mandi Bahauddin participated in the training. Their supervisory staff was also present during the training and distribution of PPE Kits.

Mr. Ahmad Waqar, Chief Officer Municipal Mandi Bahauddin thanked to CPDI and GiZ for arranging this event for his team. He also advised his team member to participate in the sessions actively and also share this knowledge and learnings with other colleagues. Moazzam Ali Janjua, Project manager CPDI, appreciated the active participation of the MC officers and other concerned staff and he also thanked to the Chief Officer Municipal Mandi Bahauddin for his valuable participation.

In the event, training facilitator, Mr. Muhammad Ismail imparted hand on training and explained in detail about the definition, types of sanitation, health and safety measures, and practical demonstration about the use of PPE kits. He also emphasized the importance of sanitary workers role and their remarkable contribution as a front-line soldier to keep city clean and tidy.   At the end of the session, kits were distributed among the participants by the chief officer and project manager CPDI.
