On a cool winter evening of 21 Jan 2023, the Pakistan Federal Union of Columnists (PFUC) was honoured to be hosted by the Consul General of Liberland to Pakistan, His Excellency Faisal Butt, for a formal dinner at the Consulate of Liberland-Pakistan.

The event was held in honour of our newly elected governing body for 2023 and brought together a distinguished group of guests, including former MPA Dr Saeed Elahi, Dr Khawar, Chairman of the PFUC, Anchor Person Farrukh Shahbaz Warraich and many other prominent figures led by the President of PFUC Rana Ali Zohaib.

As we arrived at the consulate, we were greeted by the warm and welcoming staff, who made sure that our every need was met. The atmosphere was electric, with a sense of excitement and anticipation in the air. We were all looking forward to learning more about the Republic of Liberland, and the opportunity to break bread with such a distinguished group of guests.

The dinner was a sumptuous affair, with an array of delicious dishes that were expertly prepared by the consulate’s talented chefs. As we sat down to enjoy our meal, we were surrounded by a sense of camaraderie and goodwill, and it was clear that this was going to be an evening to remember.

But before dinner will progress, we were treated to a wonderful Q&A session with Consul General Faisal Butt, who provided us with an in-depth look into the history and culture of Liberland. He spoke about the country’s founding principles of individual liberty and personal responsibility, and how these values have helped to shape the country into the vibrant, thriving nation it is today. He also shared with us the vision and goals of Liberland, which are to become a world leader in free market economics and to be a model of a true democracy.

One of the things that struck us most about Liberland is its unique history. Founded in 2015 by Czech politician and libertarian activist, Vít Jedlička, Liberland is a sovereign state located on a parcel of land between Croatia and Serbia. Liberland has managed to attract over half a million citizens worldwide through its online registration process and has become a symbol of hope and freedom for many.

What makes Liberland stand out from other countries is its commitment to freedom and self-government. The country operates on a principle of minimal government intervention, with a focus on personal responsibility and individual liberty. This means that citizens of Liberland are free to live their lives as they see fit, without the burden of heavy taxes or restrictive regulations.

We were also impressed by how Liberland has embraced new technologies and innovative ideas. The country is home to a thriving blockchain community and is working to develop new ways to use this technology to create more efficient and transparent government systems. Additionally, Liberland is also a pioneer in the field of cryptocurrency and has its cryptocurrency, called the Liberland Merit, which is used as a form of payment within the country.

As the evening came to a close, we were left with a sense of awe and inspiration. We had been given a glimpse into a world where freedom, self-government, and innovation were celebrated and embraced, and it was clear that Liberland is a country that is truly leading the way in these areas.

We would like to express our sincere thanks to Consul General Faisal Butt and the Consulate of Liberland-Pakistan for hosting such a memorable event. We are honoured to have had the opportunity to learn more about Liberland and to break bread with such a distinguished group of guests. We are grateful for the opportunity to have experienced such a memorable event and for the kindness and hospitality showed to us by Consul General Faisal Butt and the Consulate of Liberland-Pakistan.

Furthermore, we would like to thank Consul General Faisal Butt for briefing us about the Republic of Liberland, and for providing us with an in-depth look into the history, culture and vision of the country. It was an enlightening experience, and we are now more informed and inspired to learn more about Liberland and its unique principles.

We look forward to future opportunities to collaborate and build a strong relationship between the PFUC and the Consulate of Liberland-Pakistan. It was an honour for us to be a part of this event and we hope to continue our association with the consulate in the future.

In conclusion, we would like to once again express our gratitude to Consul General Faisal Butt and the Consulate of Liberland-Pakistan for hosting a wonderful dinner in honour of the PFUC. It was a night to remember and we are honoured to have been a part of it. Thank you for giving us a glimpse into the world of Liberland, a country that is truly leading the way in freedom, self-government, and innovation.
