Azad Kashmir (Special Cprrespondent): The Azad Kashmir’s Legislative Assembly made ad hoc employees permanent for more than five years after the May 25-27 assembly session under a bill that includes government employees who have been in office for more than two decades.
The success of the ad hoc employees came as a result of a long legal battle. Numerous ad hoc employees had filed writ petitions seeking permanent status in the High Court and the Supreme Court.
Each time the court said in remarks that the government should make ad hoc employees permanent under the legislation which eventually happened.
While there was a wave of happiness among ad hoc employees across Azad Kashmir, the educated class waiting for government jobs also expressed anger.
But since the decision was made under legislation, it does not seem possible to challenge it.
