Javelin thrower Olympian Arshad received a grand welcome at Lahore’s Allama Iqbal Airport. Sports Board Punjab and Pakistan Sports Board officials welcomed Arshad Nadeem.

Talking on this occasion, Arshad said that I am grateful to all my friends, I request the government to provide international level facilities and coaches, if there are facilities, I will be able to perform better.

He said that I have a good friendship with Indian athlete Neeraj Chopra.

It should be noted that Javelin thrower Olympian Arshad Nadeem created history for Pakistan in the World Athletics Championship and won the silver medal yesterday.

Arshad finished second in the javelin throw competition of the championships in Budapest, Hungary, while India’s Neeraj Chopra managed to win the gold medal by less than half a meter.

Arshad Nadeem threw javelin 74.80 in the first throw, 82.81 in the second throw, 87.82 in the third throw, 87.15 in the fourth throw and 81.86 meters in the sixth throw. His throw was called a foul in the fifth inning.

In the last round, Arshad had to throw more than 88.17 meters, but he did not succeed in this and his last throw was 81.86 meters, due to which Neeraj Chopra and Arshad were declared as the rightful for the gold medal.

Arshad Nadeem also became the first medal-winning athlete for Pakistan at the World Athletics Championships.
