Permanent Representative of Pakistan to the United Nations and International Organizations in Vienna, His Excellency Ambassador Mohammad Kamran Akhtar Malik, met President of the OPEC Fund Dr. Abdulhamid Alkhalifa.
The Permanent Representative of Pakistan highlighted Pakistan’s long-standing cooperation with OPEC Fund. The facility has played a significant role in infrastructure development of Pakistan particularly in the hydropower sector. OPEC Fund has provided valuable assistance during COVID-19 pandemic and in reconstruction and rehabilitation of areas affected by devastating floods of 2022. The PR reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to share expertise and Human Resource for the benefit of OPEC Fund’s partner countries and for South-South cooperation which is an essential part of OPEC Fund’s mandate.
Dr. Abdulhamid Alkhalifa, appreciated Pakistan’s cooperation and active engagement with the OPEC Fund. He thanked Pakistan for its valuable contribution in the OPEC Fund’s Development Forum held on 24-25 June 2024. He reiterated Fund’s support for Pakistan and underscored the importance of enhancing South-South cooperation.
