Afghanistan after a hard grind have defeated Zimbabwe at the Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium as they chased down the target of 108 for the loss of four wickets.

The Test series leveled at 1-1. Both teams will now lock horns in the three-match T20I series, starting from March 17.

Earlier, Zimbabwe started Day five proceedings on 266/7 with Sean Williams at 106 and Donald Tiripano unbeaten on 63.

The Chevrons managed to add 99 runs and were bowled out on 365. Skipper Williams remained not-out on 151. Tiripano missed a well-deserved century as he was trapped in front by leg-spinner Rashid Khan.

The 22-year-old Rashid finished with figures of 7/137 with overall match figures of 11/275. Sayed Shiraz, Amir Hamza and Javed Ahmadi bagged a wicket each.

Afghans lost Ahmadi in the first over but Ibrahim Zadran (29) and Rahmat Shah (58) added 81 runs for second wicket. They lost two wickets close to the target, however, they reached the target in 26.1 overs.
