SIKH Community is the smallest and youngest in the Indian sub-continent, but carries a distinct language, culture and religion. The Sikhs are very strong and business minded people. Wherever they go, they grown in every aspect of life. One such factor was seen today in the Opening Ceremony of the Panj Tara Restaurant in Netherlands Port City of Rotterdam.

The ownder of the Panj Tara is a middle age man Jasdev Sing assisted by his younger brother Bobby and his active Surinam wife, who is well-versed with Dutch, English and Urdu lanahuages. She welcomed the guests and communicated with them in their lanaguage. Among the guests were a talkative Pakistani Raja Imran Khan, Zaheer Raja, a Kashmiri Electrical Engineer, who owns his own Business Company, the RAJA Group. He was accompanied by his wife Sara, daughter Farzana, son-in-law Danyal Iqbal and myself.

The word Panj Tara represents Sikh religion and culture in Punjabi language. Panj means five and Tara means STAR. The term “Panj Tara” refers to the five most prominent, centrally influentially Sikh leaders, who are often linked the 18th century “Panj Piare ” (five beloved-ones). Panj Tara is a beautiful name meaning star and we hope it will shine like a STAR. We wish the Jasdev Family a very good for their business.
