A Reformist Iranian Political Party Appeals for Global Peace

Tehran: Reformist political party Nedaye Iranian has condemned the 12-day Israeli war of aggression on Iran, and the killing of one of its members in Israeli strikes.

In a statement on Friday, Nedaye Iranian also announced that Ali Hatefi, “a prominent member” and the head of the party’s office in Asadabad, Hamadan, had been killed in the Israeli strikes.

The following is the full text of the English version of the statement, as provided by the party itself:

In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful

To,

The Political Parties, all over the world

Subject: Condemning the war crimes of the Israeli regime in Iran and commemorating the martyred member of the Nedaye Iranian Political Party

With greetings and respect,

We, the Nedaye Iranian Political Party, a young, reformist and peace-loving party founded in Iran on the principles of “Interaction and Tolerance, Step-by-Step Reforms and Sustainable Development”, write this letter to you with deep sorrow and a sense of historical urgency. What has happened to our nation is not only a national disaster, but also a wake-up call for human conscience and global security. Silence in the face of it would be ignoring the truth and complicity in injustice.

We believe that committed political parties around the world have a duty beyond national borders; a duty to defend peace, justice, human dignity and confront violence and warmongering. The Nedaye Iranian Political Party, relying on the universal values of peace, development, democracy, and intercultural dialogue, has always stood against extremism, political obstruction, and the use of force, and continues to emphasize the path of peaceful reform as the real path to a better future for Iran, the region, and the world. In this regard, and with the same spirit of commitment to justice and peace, we call on you, the political parties, to show an appropriate, united, and effective response to the military aggression and war crimes of the Zionist regime against Iran.

In a clear aggression and clear violation of international standards, the Zionist regime attacked Iran’s peaceful nuclear facilities, that, according to official reports from the International Atomic Energy Agency, have been devoid of any military activity, and at the same time, targeted urban infrastructure and civilian centers, including residential areas, universities, prisons, hospitals, and orphanages; attacks that have resulted in the martyrdom of a large number of Iranian citizens.

As of the time of writing, according to the latest official reports from the Iranian Legal Medicine Organization (ILMO), the identities of more than 1,000 martyrs have been identified, including 38 children and 102 women several of them were pregnant women. These attacks, in a blind and merciless manner, claimed the lives of many people; from scientists, doctors, students, athletes, schoolchildren and Red Crescent aid workers to the homeland defense forces and soldiers who were present in the defense positions of the country. This behavior is clear evidence of the Zionist regime’s disregard for human dignity, international law and the fundamental principles of humanitarian law.

Among the martyrs of this incident, Ali Hatefi, a prominent member of the Nedaye Iranian Political Party and the head of the party’s office in Asadabad, Hamadan, was also martyred.
Ali Hatefi was neither a military staff nor a high-ranking politician; rather, he was a peace activist who, with a deep concern for the development, social justice, and progress of Iran, dedicated his life to activities related to our political party, civic participation, and peaceful efforts to build a better future.

His martyrdom is a clear example of the deliberate targeting of political and civic activists by the Zionist regime; a regime that severely suppresses the voice of peace, dialogue, and reformism.

Ali Hatefi was a symbol of civic commitment and peaceful party activity, and his loss is not only a great loss for us, but also a strong incentive to stand up and pursue justice.
The terrorist regime of Israel, with a dark history of war crimes in Palestine, Lebanon, Syria, and now Iran, has today become a systematic threat to the global order. Continuing on this path without an answer will mean legitimizing structural violence and the collapse of international conscience.

Accordingly, we call on all political parties committed to justice, peace and human rights around the world to form a moral, political and partisan front against the crimes of the Zionist regime.

We call on you to:

1- Officially, firmly and publicly condemn the recent Israeli attack on Iran.

2- Pressure your governments to stop military, intelligence and technological cooperation with this regime.

3- Support the referral of these crimes to the International Criminal Court (ICC) and the initiation of legal proceedings against its officials.

4- Demand that the competent UN bodies conduct independent, transparent and impartial investigations into these attacks.

5- Actively participate in launching international awareness campaigns to expose the dimensions of these crimes.

6- Hold partisan and international meetings to coordinate political and legal measures against the Zionist regime.

We also propose the formation of a global coalition of peace-loving, freedom-loving, and anti-war parties; a structural, sustainable, and effective coalition that can take serious and coordinated action against the spread of violence, human rights violations, and threats to global peace.

Holding a joint meeting between different parties all over the world to condemn these crimes would be a first but strategic step on the path to transnational political solidarity.
Today’s silence is tomorrow’s green light. The crimes of the Zionist regime have challenged our shared values. This is not just a call to issue a statement; it is a call for collective action, for solidarity in defending human dignity, and to prevent the repetition of tragedies that may occur tomorrow in another corner of the world.

The memory of all the innocents lost calls us to a historic responsibility. Let us stand against warmongering and destruction at this critical moment, with unity and determination, and build a more humane world.

With respect and hope for global unity for peace;

Seyed Shahabeddin Tabatabaei
Secretary General of the Nedaye Iranian Political Party
