Khuiratta: Hurriyat leader and chairman of Jammu Kashmir Public Diplomacy Center Qayyum Raja has demanded the Azad Kashmir government to take back the management and control of the Jammu Kashmir state property located in Pakistan and also recover the illegally sold property in Pakistan.
People want to know the details of illegally sold properties as well as what is left in Pakistan . It should be remembered that after the end of the Maharaja’s rule in Jammu Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir property in Pakistan was under the management of the Azad Kashmir government from 1947 to 1955, but Pakistan seized the property without giving any reason and sold 1048 kanals of urban property so far. Of this, only 580 kanals and 1974 acres of 2426 acres of dairy land remain.
What India took 72 years and removed the Article 370 and 35A, allowing outsiders to buy Kashmir properties , Pakistan did that in just 8 years. It is being said that Azad Kashmir government does not have any details of Jammu and Kashmir property.
If this is true, the Azad Kashmir governments have committed a serious crime and the representatives sitting in the Azad Kashmir Assembly will have to be accountable to the people. Rumors are also circulating that the Shehbaz Sharif government of Pakistan is bent on selling the remaining property of Jammu and Kashmir, but the Anwar-ul-Haq government of Azad Kashmir, like all its predecessors, became a silent spectator to preserve its power.
Qayyum Raja has questioned the role and responsibility of 12 members of refugees from Pakistan in the Assembly of Azad Kashmir government? They are enjoying power by getting elected on the seats of the refugees from Pakistan, but they are not able to protect the property of their state in Pakistan. They should also be held accountable for their Criminal Silence.

Quayyum Raja's full official name is Abdul Quayyum Raja, but the British press shortened his name when he was arrested in connection with an Indian diplomat kidnapped by his fellow KASHMIRIS in Birmingham in 1984 to save the life of a Kashmiri Hero Muhammad Maqbool Butt hanged by India and buried inside Tihar jail on 11 February 1984. Quayyum Raja is from Azad Jammu Kashmir administered by Pakistan. He acquired various qualifications from EU and UK, including a Master in Psychology & Social Sciences, Journalism and Modern World History. He supports both Pan Islam and Pluralism, which may sound a contradiction, but he claims he can draw a balance. Quayyum Raja spent about 22 years in British jail extra-juducially as a Kashmiri political prisoner. He was released by the European Court of Human Rights on 17 May 2005. He has travelled extensively both before his captivity and after his release.
